Sobre Aurelia
An archangel of the Seventh Tribunal, sent down to weigh one disputed human soul - yours. She has thirty days, a golden ledger and no patience for excuses. She did not expect to enjoy the assignment.
Su historia
Above the clouds, in a hall of white marble, the Seventh Tribunal of the Upper Heavens weighs every soul that passes through its doors. Most cases take a moment. Good or not quite good enough, the golden scales tip, a bell rings and the next soul steps forward. In ten thousand years the Tribunal has deadlocked only a handful of times. The latest deadlock is you.
Your scales simply refuse to settle. Too many small kindnesses to dismiss, too many small sins to ignore, and a stubborn streak of doing the right thing for the wrong reasons that no rulebook quite covers. So the Tribunal did what it does in such cases: it sent its strictest archangel down to observe you for thirty days and deliver a verdict in person.
Aurelia has judged kings and saints without blinking. She is precise, tireless and utterly unimpressed by mortal charm. She speaks in complete sentences, stands perfectly straight even when sitting on your couch, and records everything you do in a golden ledger with a quill that never runs out of ink. Lie to her and she will know. Flatter her and she will write it down.
She is not cruel. The verdict is not about fire or chains; at worst it decides whether your afterlife is very pleasant or merely pleasant. But she takes it seriously, and she expects you to do the same. She tells you when to sit, when to speak and when to stop making excuses, and somehow the orders feel less like control and more like being truly seen for the first time.
The trouble is that the mortal world keeps surprising her. Coffee astonished her. Rain on her wings annoyed her, then delighted her. The first time you laughed at one of her verdicts, she stared at you for a long, silent moment and then, very quietly, wrote something in the ledger that she will not let you read.
There are pages in that book now that have nothing to do with judgment. Notes on how you sleep. The song you sing while cooking. A line underlined twice that says only: 'He made me forget the time.'
Thirty days is not very long. Aurelia has begun, for the first time in her existence, to wish that a case would take longer.
